Setting FDTD Simulation Control Panel

This section describes the FDTD simulation control panel.

After creating the simulation project, click To run button in the FDTD tab, and the simulation control panel tab will be displayed automatically.

This module consists of graphics control, transient field control, and progress. Note that this module setting is effective for visualizing FDTD field data and does not affect the actual FDTD simulation.

Graphics Control

Graphics group is used to set graphics transparency of structures and fields in Composite viewer and to choose whether to hide structures and fields (Does not affect the actual FDTD simulation).

Name	Description
Translucent	Set transparency. 1 means opaque, and 0 means transparent.
Hide material	Hide the structure display in the Composite viewer. Check it to enable this parameter.
Hide fields	Hide the field display in the Composite viewer. Check it to enable this parameter.

Progress

Progress group displays the simulation process, performs operations such as running the project and stopping the running project.

Name	Description
Status	Display simulation status.
Progress	Displays the simulation progress after the simulation starts.
Time remaining	Display the remaining time after the simulation starts.
Auto shutoff	Display the early shut-off rate.
Speed	Display the simulation running speed.
Run	Run simulation.
Stop	Stop simulation.
Tools	Pull down display tool button. Send field setting: This option is only displayed when the transient field setting is enabled, sending the coordinates of three observed bottom fields; Clear results: Clear the results data; Clear sweepopt results: Clear sweep and optimization results data.

Transient Field Control

To enable the following tabs, users need to check Real-time display of slice fields in the FDTD solver. The following settings are used to control the display of time domain fields.

Field Control

Field group is used to set the observation position, update speed, field component, etc. for the time domain field display in the Composite viewer.

Name	Description
Pos X/ Pos Y/ Pos Z	Set center coordinates of a watch position.
Component	Select a component from the dropdown list.
Background color	Select background color of a field from the dropdown list.
Translucent	Select translucency of a field.
Per sec	Select refresh rate of a field from the dropdown list.

Transient Field Control

Transient field control group is used to set the time and time step for the time domain field display.

Name	Description
Timeline	The slider controls the time step of displaying the transient field. It can also be controlled through three buttons: Forward, Backward, and Start/Stop.
Step, time	Display the time step and simulation time of the current transient field.
